The material concerns talks between the United States and the Soviet Union, the administration's peace through strength position, and the establishment of a Peace Academy. There is one case file regarding Samantha Smith, the Maine child who wrote to Chairman Yuri Andropov, head of the Soviet Union, asking how he was going to avoid nuclear war.
