The Reagan Museum is designed for our guests to guide themselves through our galleries. Tour guides (Museum Docents) are available to lead tour groups of 25 or more people.  All groups 25 persons or larger must make a reservation whether or not they elect to have a tour guide. Groups must use ONE form of payment for the entire group and make a reservation in advance. Members and their guests enjoy free entry. When pre-purchasing, be sure to have your Membership ID number—located on your Reagan Foundation Membership Card.

MUSEUM TOURS FOR STUDENTS

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum offers 2-hour docent-led museum tours designed to engage and inform students in 3rd-12th grade about Ronald Reagan's presidency and legacy. Self-guided tours are available for students in Kindeergarten-2nd grade. View the criteria for public, private, and homeschool tours below.

School Tour Criteria

Public and Private School Tours

All public and private school students in Kindergarten through 12th grade will receive free admission to the Reagan Museum when they book a tour with the Visitor Services Department. There is an additional charge to visit the special exhibit for all groups (if applicable). Spots fill up quickly, so please contact us as soon as you have potential dates for your visit.

Grades K - 2nd

We do not offer guided tours for Kindergarten through 2nd grade. We require a 1:5 ratio of chaperones to students. These chaperones will receive free admission. All additional chaperones/adults will pay full admission price. There is an additional charge to tour the temporary exhibit for students and chaperones.

Grades 3rd - 12th

We require a 1:10 ratio of chaperones to students. These chaperones will receive free admission. All additional chaperones/adults will pay full admission price and self-guide through the museum when a guided tour is chosen. There is an additional charge to tour the temporary exhibit for students and chaperones.

After-School Programs

These groups are treated as a paying group tour. They will receive a group discount, if they qualify.

Minimum Class Size

The minimum number of sudents required to book a tour is 10; the maximum number of students allowed each day is 60.

Homeschool Tours

All homeschool groups must follow all policies stated below. There is an additional charge to visit the special exhibit for all groups (if applicable). See below for more information regarding Home School Groups.


Homeschool Tour Checklist

  • Check-in is required in the main lobby to receive admission stickers.
  • Parents must purchase admission to receive free tickets for K-12 students.
  • Parents must remain on campus at all times with their children.
  • Walk-ins are welcome, but simulation spots are not guaranteed without a reservation.
  • Confirmation emails are required for simulation participants (check your spam/junk folder).
  • Reservations for January 20, 2026 will open on October 1, 2025.
  • Food is available for purchase at the Bistro or picnic lunches are welcome. All food and drink must stay in your vehicle; please use the picnic area near the parking lot for all outside food/drink.
  • Backpacks are not permitted in the museum.  Please leave all large bags in your vehicle.

Free Home School Days

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library offers  free Homeschool Days each school year in partnership with the Reagan Foundation Leadership Center!

  • K-12 students enjoy free admission to the Reagan Museum galleries (general admission fees apply to everyone else in the family).  Access to special exhibitions (if applicable) requires an additional fee.
  • Exclusive for 5th-12th Graders: Participate in the Reagan Leadership Center “Operation Urgent Fury” Simulation, a hands-on experience capped at 135 students and 18 adult chaperones. Three 1.5-hour time slots available (45 students + 6 adults per slot). Includes a 15-minute Pre-Brief, 60-minute simulation, and a 15-minute Open House for parents and younger siblings to explore the space.
