The President today announced his intention to nominate Frank Henry Habicht II to be an Assistant Attorney General, Land and Natural Resources Division, Department of Justice. He would succeed Carol E. Dinkins.

Mr. Habicht is currently Deputy Assistant Attorney General (Land and Natural Resources Division). Previously he was Special Assistant to the Attorney General of the United States (1981 - 1982); a member of the Presidential transition team for the U.S. Department of Justice (1980); and was with the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis (1978 - 1981).

Mr. Habicht graduated from Princeton University (A.B., 1975) and the University of Virginia Law School (J.D., 1978). He is married, has one child, and resides in Washington, D.C. He was born April 10, 1953, in Oak Park, Ill.
